Eagle Newborn Photography

Newborn photography at home to capture what matters most

The newborn stage can feel like such a blur with long nights, little sleep, and almost no routine. It’s one of the reasons I love newborn photography. I often find myself looking back on photographs to remember, to reminisce, to bring myself back to a moment in time. So much changes when a new baby is welcomed into a family, and I love how newborn photos are able to capture that season of life.

Focusing on what’s most important with newborn photography

When families reach out to me for newborn photos, they are often concerned about having a cooperative baby or kiddos. In reality, most photo sessions with a baby involve tears a time or two, a diaper change, and an eating break for the baby. For me, newborn photography isn’t about capturing perfect moments, but seeing and capturing the things that will mean something to families in the future: the warmth of a newborn’s little body against your chest, a dad sitting in the chair where they spent hours holding their baby, a mom walking back and forth across the nursery floor waiting for her child to fall asleep, parents looking at each other over a moment of chaos.

Newborn photos at home

This newborn photography session took place on a beautiful sunny day, with light streaming in the windows. I arrived just when the mother’s parents were heading out and in time to snap a candid photo of Grandma giving her daughter a kiss of love and encouragement on the head. The parents had hardly slept the night before, but embraced the process and walked me through the spaces they’d been spending their time with their new baby girl.

Finding your newborn photographer in Idaho

When it comes time to hire your newborn photographer, find someone who shares a similar style and vision.

If you’re looking for a newborn photographer in the Boise area, I’d love to connect! I’m Becky, a lifestyle, newborn and family photographer in Idaho where I live with my husband and son. Each time I pick up my mom’s old film camera to snap a photo of my boys or grab a phone photo of a mundane moment with my son makes me a better photographer for my clients. As an artist I’m not only creating my favorite work with clients. Day in and day out, I’m capturing the things in my own life worth remembering—the stories I’ll be retelling for years—and I’d love to do that for you.

Becky from Studio Ostendo, Co., a newborn photographer in Idaho

I love photographing families and the life they are building together. While I love creating beautiful photographs that catalog another year gone by for families, I’m obsessed with capturing raw interactions and families as they truly are. What I hope for my lifestyle and family sessions is that they become a time for families to connect with their loved ones in a way that’s meaningful to them.

Wedding photography is my heartbeat. For me, it holds the perfect tension between creativity and authenticity, observation and connection. In front of my camera clients transform to friends, and behind it you'll usually find me tearing up, cheering you on, or holding my breath because of the raw goodness of the moment at hand.
