Alexis and Dylan planned an intimate wedding in Boise, starting with a beautiful wedding ceremony at Kathryn Albertson Park followed by a personal, intentional dinner reception at Kin Boise. When we first met, I knew I would love this day because of the way Alexis and Dylan talked about their wedding celebration. Their priority was to be present with each other and with their families. They wanted photographs that captured the spirit of the event, candid moments where the focus remained on being together instead of creating a day-long photoshoot. Watching them move through their wedding day was so beautiful because they did exactly that: celebrated with their loved ones instead of performing for the camera. We started the afternoon together at Kathryn Albertson Park.
Alexis and Dylan’s friends arrived early to Kathryn Albertson Park to help set up chairs, and even Grandma lent a hand transforming the Rookery into a wedding ceremony space. The whole group spent the morning together sans photographer: making breakfast together, picking flowers from the garden for the bouquet, and getting ready for the wedding. When they arrived at Albertson Park, we took some group photos to commemorate the group gathered, and then began the ceremony. Alexis and Dylan shared personal vows, and their officiant read well wishes to the couple written by everyone in attendance. It was uncomplicated and meaningful, a beautiful way to start their marriage. We took a few photos around the park together as we meandered the winding paths of Kathryn Albertson Park. With fall colors around every turn, we could have spent hours there, but instead Alexis and Dylan walked and talked and enjoyed some time together as I took some photographs of them.
We left the park and drove to the heart of downtown Boise to continue the wedding with an intimate dinner reception at Kin Boise. With a multi-course menu inspired by Alexis and Dylan’s relationship and upbringings, their wedding dinner at Kin was thoughtfully paced and sprinkled with personality. They took time to have conversations with everyone present, and the team at Kin delivered an unforgettable meal that invited guests into an immersive storied experience.
Before I left them for the evening for a night on the town with their siblings, Alexis and Dylan cut a cake made by their nieces and enjoyed dessert and city views from a private room.

Wedding photography is my heartbeat. For me, it holds the perfect tension between creativity and authenticity, observation and connection. In front of my camera clients transform to friends, and behind it you'll usually find me tearing up, cheering you on, or holding my breath because of the raw goodness of the moment at hand.
