When I first met Courtney, I walked away from our video call smiling because that’s the effect she has on people. Her joy is so contagious, her spark so bright, I was just thrilled to create with her and Tyler and photograph their outdoor wedding in Eagle, Idaho.
Courtney and Tyler wanted a backyard wedding feel for their spring outdoor wedding in Idaho. The Cottage at Riverbend in Eagle, Idaho was the perfect location for their wedding celebration: a charming house on the property where they could get ready, beautiful gardens beginning to bloom in the spring, and a shady lawn where they could gather with their family and friends made the cottage a beautiful place to spend their wedding day.
Courtney and Tyler had an intimate but vibrant vision for their wedding, and everyone chipped in to make it happen. With personal touches like catering by Courtney’s own family, a cake made and decorated by Courtney’s mom, and just a few close friends and family members in their wedding party, every moment on their wedding day felt special. And Courtney and Tyler showed up in the best way possible: present. They took time to look around. They paused to have real conversations. They gave extra hugs. They let tears fall. It’s hard for me to think of another couple who lived as whole heartedly as Courtney and Tyler on this day and it was so beautiful to witness.
Courtney and Tyler welcomed family and friends to their outdoor ceremony under the trees. Officiated by Courtney’s father, with the quiet sound of the river behind them, the ceremony was a memorable part of their wedding day. Sam from Wayward Greens set up the most stunning floral arch and decor for their outdoor ceremony, an inspired backdrop for a cherished day.
Following the outdoor ceremony, guests meandered back toward the tent and gathered under the spring blue sky for cocktails, yard games, and plenty of hugs.
Their reception took place under the tent at the Cottage at Riverbend. I’ll never forget when Tyler told me at their engagement session that their wedding would be the best party I’d attend that year. From heartfelt toasts to an electric energy on the dance floor, everyone who came out to celebrate Courtney and Tyler had the time of their lives.
Courtney and Tyler, you are so easy to celebrate. Your love is effortless and alive. Every vendor we worked with that evening and every guest I chatted with agreed: you two are easy to love because of the joy and kindness you radiate in the world.
