For the second part of Kendra and Sean’s Idaho engagement photos, we ended up in the foothills near Boise. (See their Boise River engagement photos here). It was springtime and the foothills were alive with color: vibrant green that would last just a few more weeks before the summer heat, spotted with purple lupine wobbling in the wind.
The locations for beautiful engagement photos in Idaho are endless. With a dramatic range in elevation, Idaho has mountain peaks, alpine lakes, rolling deserts, deep river canyons, dense forests, and more: basically everything you could dream of for an amazing backdrop for engagement photos. What’s most important when choosing a location for engagement photos in Idaho though, actually has more to do with the couple than the amazing views. One thing I share with Kendra and Sean is that we both came to Idaho from Chicago. When I asked Kendra and Sean to think about the things that make Idaho feel like home for them, the ways they like to spend their time together, they immediately started talking about the foothills. When they aren’t working, they are exploring the foothills together or with friends, so we knew we had to choose a location that showed that part of their life in Idaho.
We planned their engagement photos in the spring, and found a beautiful trail to hike together with breathtaking views of the rolling foothills. Pops of purple lupine wildflowers were sprinkled in the grasses at the peak we walked to together. We passed almost no one as we watched the light turn golden and the sun get closer and closer to sinking behind the foothills. Kendra kicked off her shoes and they sat together, careful not to trample any of the lovely lupines, and looked out at the stunning landscape of their Idaho home.
