As I curated Stacy and Stefan’s engagement photos, the feelings just came flooding back over and over. Their engagement photos at the Capitol in Boise are some of my favorites of this season and I’m so excited to share them.
Sometimes when I roam the Capitol building in Boise it’s because the weather outside is leaving something to be desired, but not for Stacy and Stefan’s session. We had a gorgeous sunny day and I loved the way the sun streamed in through the windows. As we walked up to the Capitol together, we were talking about how the building itself is so intriguing—from the outside it has interesting architecture and a grandiose feel to it, but it has this surprising beauty when you open the heavy doors and step inside to an interior of almost all marble. I feel the same about having people in front of the camera with me—the initial energy with Stacy and Stefan together was beautiful, but there was this exhilarating beauty between them that burst through when we went deeper and took the time to lean into the process of creating photographs together.
My favorite part about their photos is the life I see and feel in them. It’s soft and subtle in some, but the way their eyes lock and their easy presence with each other just had me captivated behind the camera.
