Studio Ostendo operates in multiple creative fields including photography, design, and education.
When it comes to displaying your wedding photos, there are TONS of ways to show them off and incorporate them into your life, including creative options such as on ornaments, coasters, cards, etc. We highly recommend printing and hanging your wedding images in a timeless way, and two of the most popular are framed prints and canvases. People ask us all the time about the best ways to print, so we want to share some things to consider about each!
Here are the pros of each...
Canvases are more tactile. They sit off the wall further and are textured.
Most canvases are glare-free!
When you hang a canvas, there’s no broken glass if they fall off the wall! (That being said, you can also secure a framed print well enough to avoid this!)
You can often purchase a canvas print for less money than a quality framed print.
Framed prints show off a higher resolution in your images, and include much more sharp detail because of their smooth texture.
They have an aesthetic quality that is artful and elegant.
The style of the framed print has withstood generations of “fads."
Professionally framed prints age better because they’re protected by glass and sealed in frame.
The mattes and frames are art-gallery quality and 100% worth the investment!
Now that we’ve shared a fair assessment of both options, we can’t help but share our preference. When given the option, Kaleb and I will always choose a framed print. We are mesmerized by the print quality, professionalism, and aesthetic of a framed print. We love the way an important moment is cherished as art, surrounded by a beautiful matte and black frame. We think framed prints show our work and your relationships and memories in the sweetest form.
All that to say, the important part is getting your memories on the walls, where they tell your story, remind you of how far you’ve come, and stand as a constant prompting to live and love well!
